|
|
At Doctors Gully, right in the heart of Darwin and within
walking distance of most city hotels is a unique attraction
which has been featured in countless television programs
and magazine articles world wide and voted "most popular
attraction" in tourism surveys.
AQUASCENE is where hundreds of fish come to shore at
high tide to be fed by hand.
Milkfish, mullet, catfish, bream and barramundi can be
seen close enough to touch as they compete with each
other for food.
Many other species including rays, cod, mangrove jack
and diamond fish may also be seen in the shallows if
you watch carefully. |

|
|
1860's the old wooden lighthouse was dismantled at Queenscliff and rebuilt in 1867 at Port Lonsdale VIC then in 1902 it was replaced with the current structure which stands 120ms above sea-level and the radiating light 30kms out to sea. A cliff walk leads west to Port Lonsdale Look-out, and another walk from the base of the lighthouse leads to Buckley's Cave.
You can even visit the Historical Cemetry which opened in 1856, it has very interesting and sad graves of shipwreck victims, lighthouse keepers and early pilots........ |

Next to the Harbour Bridge is LUNA PARK with it's BIG FACE which
